“I was very impressed. I have been to another workshop. I did not get the hands on in that workshop. This workshop demonstrated each lab station very thoroughly. We were then allowed to practice each station as long as we needed. The lectures were very concise. Sheri was very easy to understand. The class was well lit. The labs had nice equipment. The low number of students in the class allowed for more one on one instructor time. Sheri’s evaluations were fair and honest. She gave a rational for her responses. I felt that I was able to learn from my mistakes much more efficiently. I feel as though the cost of the class is very fair. I enjoyed the three day format. I felt as though the three day format allowed more time with the material without it feeling overwhelming. “To: Anyone who might be debating whether or not to take the CPNE Workshop from Sheri Taylor
I am an LPN in Tennessee who has worked in private duty nursing ever since I got my license. I wanted to become an RN, but I couldn’t quit work to go to school full time. I decided to go through Excelsior’s nursing program. I thought the program was wonderful until I had finished everything I needed to graduate except for the CPNE. I took one look at the study guide and read so many nightmare stories online about the test weekend, and I decided that I was done. I was never going to graduate. After all, I have no hospital working experience, and the pass rate for first time testers on the CPNE is extremely low.
I got my test date and panicked when I realized that I only had seven weeks until test time. I wasn’t prepared at all. I was going to call and cancel my date. Luckily, my husband was playing on the internet and found the website for a CPNE Workshop in Atlanta. We decided to call and check it out. BEST decision I ever made!!!! When I went, I only had five weeks left to prepare for my test weekend.
Sheri taught us the easy way to do care plans and med calculations, and gave us a lot of practice scenarios to take home. She also helped with mnemonics to use if we wanted to help make out grids for remembering critical elements. She went over the lab stations step by step, gave us lots of practice time, and showed us how we could set up a lab in our own home to practice. She went over the critical elements for doing all the assessments and had us practice them on each other like it was the real deal! The weekend workshop was very intense and had my brain spinning, but it was a lot of fun at the same time!
I went home from the workshop, set up my lab, and started practicing! I kept coming up with new questions as I was studying. I would email Sheri, and she always got back to me QUICKLY with answers or places to look it up and learn. I practiced care plans and sent them to her, and she would go over them and get back with me with suggestions for making them better. She was a great instructor for the workshop, but she also continued being there anytime I needed her all the way up to my test date. She really, really wants students to do well! When I left to go take the test, I was nervous, but I really felt prepared. Sheri had given me the tools I needed to pass the CPNE, and I had practiced hard for five weeks straight!
Once I got to the hospital for my test, I couldn’t believe how much her workshop was like the real thing! I was still nervous, but I was able to relax more and more and just do what I had been practicing because I was prepared.
I am so happy to announce that I not only passed the CPNE, but I was able to do it with no repeats! It is such a wonderful feeling!
Sheri’s workshop is worth every penny. I know the CPNE costs a lot, and the thought of paying more for a workshop is hard to swallow. However, the workshop cost is much much less than paying for the CPNE all over again. I cannot imagine having gone to my test without going to the workshop first. I would not have had a chance of passing!!!

"I passed my CPNE in Utica NY last week and can only say one thing…Woo-Hoooooooooooooooooooo! The test was arduous and stressful and no matter how hard one prepares that is a fact which cannot be altered. Nevertheless, the experience was much different than my first unsuccessful attempt and this was so thanks to your amazing workshop. From the very first night in the labs, your tips came in handy from calculating the doses to when and how to clean up. To the uninitiated this may sound academic but in order to be successful during the CPNE every detail can make the difference between success and going home empty handed and humiliated. The lab exercises you coordinated during the workshop duplicated the lab exams precisely so there were no surprises. Your workshop covered the documentation/ nursing care plans so succinctly that completing them under pressure was natural and not one of my care plans was rejected or even questioned. Using your "grid" system virtually eliminated the stress of remembering those all important Critical Elements, and although I had no idea how to navigate through the nursing diagnosis manual prior to attending your seminar, I found it a breeze during the exam. I was not required to repeat any patient care exams and on Sunday January 25, 2009 I heard the lovely words "Congratulations you have passed the CPNE".
